Katie’s and Matt’s ceremony was held at the Church of the Assumption in Morristown, with a bagpiper to welcome guests as they arrived. There is something so tried and true about an old estate as your wedding venue, and Fiddler’s Elbow never disappoints! Now we really have to talk about Katie’s dress and the main feature that made everyone excited about it – the bow! You are going to see many pictures of Katie looking over her shoulder because we couldn’t get enough of it! I particularly love their invite with the watercolor of Fiddler’s Elbow on the front! Katie is the epitome of a classic bride – from getting dressed in her childhood room, to the timeless and classic venue she chose for her reception. We started Katie’s and Matt’s day at each of their parent’s homes, with a few getting ready photographs and lots of pictures of their beautiful details. The end result looks effortless, but it is quite a feat to achieve! The elegant traditional wedding cannot be overdone of course, but the fall overtones can be! Katie wanted to work the richness of early fall into her color palette, and you can see this in her details, with red roses and berries and burgundy bridesmaid dresses – the perfect touch, as the deep greens of summer fade into the golden light and colors of autumn. As we prepared for Katie’s wedding last Saturday, she mentioned that she wanted a look of traditional elegance with a touch of fall, but not as though they were trying too hard.
